Vertex Boost how it works
I Mason from Vertex Effects. Today I'm
here to talk to you about the Vertex Boost.
For the functions of the Vertex Boost,
when you've paired the Boost with an
expression pedal
when the boost is off, the expression
pedal will function
identically to how volume pedal would,
however
since its isolated from the circuitry
of the Boost there won't be any tone suck.
So it will again function with in the
heel-down position
it'll be completely silent as a volume
pedal would, and will taper all the way up
to unity gain in the toe-down position.
However, once I've turned on the Boost, wherever I've set this pot
will determine what the maximum output
level is in the toe-down position.
So, for example, if I've set it to 8dB over
unity gain,
when I'm in the toe-down position now
with the Boost on
it will be plus 8dB over unity, it
will taper all the way back
until I get to the heel position where
will be silent. When I disengaged the Boost
it will still remain silent, however, when
I go back to the toe-down position,
it will be just like a volume pedal, and only go up to unity gain.
Ken's Tutorials - Increasing the audio volume on a video clip using iMovie 11
this is Ken Oguss with another tutorial
this is how you can adjust the volume
level
of a video clip
in a project before you uploaded to the
internet
first and then it was soon that you have
been reported video clips from a camera
or a memory chip
and that you've created a project
and so i have this project up here now
we're going to look at the audio now and
see how we can increase the volume
one thing we can do
to actually see what the volume looks
like is to go down here and click this
button
brings up waveform said actually shows
us what the audio looks like an athlete
listen to the audio
it's very low
so how do we make of water before
reading
upload the sand and finish the editing
there are a couple of ways
uh... the first thing i'm going to show
you is uh...
we're going to have you doubleclick
on the clip that we're going to was soon
but you've already done the trimming on
the very end and all those other
adjustments
so double click on the clip
is highlighted now and yellow
and over here to the right
we have something known as the inspector
that allows you to make
uh... other adjustments to the clip
overall
the video
or in this case the audio
so here are audio adjustments right now
when the audio was imported it was at
one hundred percent so let's increase it
all the way to the right and that's five
hundred percent
look over here at the waveforms i'll
move it back to a hundred percent
they're almost
moving up to five hundred percent and
they're nice and pete
if they get yellow and red at the tips
of these little mountain peaks that's
too high
but we've increased this volume quite a
bit
another thing we're going to do
is we're going to reduce the background
noise
manicure recording was done in an
noisy environment this is a good thing
to do
let's try and around thirty-some-odd
percent
uh... if you go much over that you can
start to distort the audio
the last thing the third thing we're
gonna do is to use the equalizer and go
from this being flat across like this
you look at the pull-down menu
you'll see there is a voice in hence
you do that
and then click
and now our audio
on this clip
is much louder
i hope this helps
and uh... will talk to you again in the
next tutorial
